I'm very sorry to hear about Eve. Eve and I were the only American members of staff in SIPBS and we had some research interests in common. I asked her once about her name as I have German-American ancestors from Maryland, and she said she had similar roots. Being retired, now with time for such things, I was just about to contact her to discuss this further when I heard the sad news. She was a lovely person and I always enjoyed talking with her. Eve - it was good to know you and work with you. Funny, kind, stubborn, focussed, sarcastic, driven, thoughtful and caring. Scientific integrity bar none. Robin
Eve will be sorely missed by all who had the good fortune to know her. My heartfelt condolences go to Chris, Isobel and Eilidh.
We miss you, Eve. Finding comfort in the memory of your placid, bright personality and the knowledge that you wouldn't want us to be sad.
All that the tribute to Eve says resonates completely with me. When I had to move to Strathclyde, Eve was one of those who made me feel so very welcome and she never faltered in her willingness to help in any way she could. I will miss her greatly.
Very sorry to lose Eve, she was much appreciated
Sincerest condolonces at this very sad time.
Tragically, we have lost in Eve an incredible and formidable bright spark and star with a dazzling and outstanding personality. Tragedies never make sense, the more so when death occurs in someone still so young and gifted as Eve. Already having made several seminal scientific discoveries, Eve had the potential to do so much more. My sincere condolences to Chris, Isobel (who I remember well as a delightful \"cheeky\" chip off her mother) and Eilidh. George Fink

Eve was a tower of strength to our father, Lionel Naftalin, in his last years at the University. She was endlessly patient, kind and encouraging - she must also have been a brilliant teacher. Our thoughts are with you. Ruth Hendrick and Maurice Naftalin
YOUR MEMORY WILL LIVE ON!

Eve was a valued colleague - always smiling and helpful - she will be missed.
